Once he was the actual wonderkid in Liverpool, now he plays in Swansea and scored the biggest goal of his life against Aston Villa. The naturally bold (he has alopecia) playmaker played his first full season in the EPL, and scored six goals, but just the last one was memorable. In the 26th minute of the Swansea-Aston Villa clash Shelvey controlled the ball in the center circle, and after realizing that the keeper is far from the net he decided to chose greatness. The Jacks won, and few weeks later finished at the 12th place.
In spite of his best season so far, Shelvey hasn’t been selected in England squad for the World Cup. He is not even on standby. Greatness is a thing Roy Hodgson barely understands.
