Spain is the team to beat in Brazil. They won the last World Cup and they won two European Championships in a row. And the members of those teams are still here. Despite having lost the starting job in Real Madrid, Iker Casillas is still the number 1 goalkeeper in Spain. And there is no need to applaud Xavi or Iniesta in the midfield, Spain will keep possession at this World Cup too. The question is who will score.
In 2010 Spain was undoubtedly the best team despite having scored only eight goals. David Villa did five of them, but the forward’s career is declining. After winning La Liga with Atletico Madrid he has just signed a new contract with New York and he will be on loan to Melbourne until March. The two other notable forwards are Diego Costa and Fernando Torres. Diego Costa is injured, but he travelled to Brazil. And Fernando Torres has been constantly looking for his old self since he had left Liverpool.
