Players to buy and avoid in Spanish La Liga Round 14.
Moyá (Atlético Madrid, goalkeeper). The first choice goalkeeper of the title holders is in a good form as he earned his 6th clean sheet of the season against Deportivo La Courna in the recent round. Atlético travel to the struggling Elche in the weekend and Moyá has a clear chance for a second consecutive clean sheet. Price: 9 million. Cheaper option: Sergio Asenjo (Villarreal, 7 million). The Villarreal goaltender made 2 saves including 2 diving saves against Córdoba to collect his 4th clean sheet of the season. Villarreal host Real Sociedad in the weekend so he will be tested heavily.
Sergio Busquets (Barcelona, midfielder). The defensive midfielder of the Catalan giant scored the winning goal against Valencia last week and he collected a total of 85 fantasy points in the last two rounds. He enjoys Luis Enrique’s trust and you can count on him as a regular starter who earns an average of 28 fantasy points. Price: 9.5 million. Cheaper option: Stéphane Mbia (Sevilla, 7.5 million). The Sevilla midfielder scored against Granada, he won 7 duels and gave only 5 wrong passes out of 48 attempts. Sevilla face Rayo in the weekend and Mbia can be on the scoreline again.
Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid, defender). The Spanish international centre-back is in a great form and he was rested in midweek so he will be fresh against Celta Vigo in the weekend. His average is 27 fantasy points, but be aware: he is only 1 yellow card away from an automatic one-match suspension. Price: 14 million. Cheaper option: Sidnei (Deportivo La Coruna, 8.5 million). Despite the loss of his side against Atlético Madrid last week, Sidnei gave a fantastic performance: 13 duels won out of 14, 42 accurate passes from 49 attempts, 2 successful dribbles and 2 interceptions. Deportivo host Malaga and you can count on him again.
Carlos Vela (Real Sociedad, forward). The former Arsenal player scored a hat-trick against Elche (3–0) in the latest round of La Liga so his confidence is high. He wants to prove his worth and he will do everything against Villarreal in the weekend, that’s for sure. Will goals flow again from him? Who knows, why not?! Price: 5 million. Another option: Mikel Arruabarrena (Eibar, 5.5 million). He has only 4 goals this season but Eibar host Almería in the weekend and it’s a good chance for him to score again.
James Rodriguez (Real Madrid, midfielder). As Jesé Rodriguez is back after a long injury absence, Ancelotti will make his rotation and there are too many available midfielders for him. Time to go on. Rafinha (Barcelona, midfielder). He isn’t in a good form and barely gets playing time from his manager.
